La leyenda del Puig Campana, el respaldo de Benidorm
¿Conocéis el Puig Campana, la impresionante montaña a espaldas de Benidorm?
Lo que más nos llama la atención de esta montaña es el corte perfecto que tiene en la cima. La verdad es que parece que le hayan recortado un trozo. Si a esto le sumamos la forma del famoso islote que vemos desde cualquier playa de Benidorm… a más de uno de se nos viene la misma idea a la cabeza, ¿a que sí?
Puig campana y La Isla de Benidorm
Precisamente la suma de estas dos cosas ha originado varias leyendas.
Desde la historia de un monje y su borrico, que tropezó en la cima del Puig Campana y arrancó un trozo que cayó rodando al mar, hasta la historia de Roldán, el héroe francés que, en una lucha a muerte contra un capitán moro descargó su espada contra el suelo e hizo saltar el trozo de montaña cayendo al mar.
Hay quienes aseguran que lo que pretendía Roldán al descargar su espada era alargar el día porque estaba enamorado de una joven moribunda sobre la que pesaba una maldición: moriría con el último rayo de sol del día, lo que el héroe trató de impedir dando el monumental tajo a la montaña.
¿Cuál de las dos leyendas creéis que es la de verdad? Sólo hay una manera de averiguarlo, hay que venir a Benidorm a verlo!
