TRAM, el tren de Benidorm
Alicante estrenó el primer Tram español (tren metropolitano) en 2003, entre Puerta del Mar y Denia, pasando por Benidorm. Se trata de un ambicioso proyecto que incorpora a la costa alicantina y a Benidorm un transporte público ferroviario de alta calidad. Sobre la antigua línea del Trenet Alacant – Benidorm – Dénia, se han ejecutado todas las modificaciones necesarias para adaptar las antiguas instalaciones y trazados al nuevo servicio de TRAM para Benidorm.
El resultado es un transporte más limpio y ecológico, de alta capacidad y frecuencia, que ha cambiado el concepto de viajar en el antiguo Trenet de Benidorm.
